YMA intends to address the brain drained and capacity gap through national and international training opportunities to help address the complex challenges in the Liberian media.
Create advocacy and neutral environments that promote positive communication, mutual understanding and shared learning opportunities
Organize community outreach programs in order to raise awareness on issues that exist in the communities for better livelihood
Produce and package media programs that will provide vital information and education for citizens to make informed decision.
Since 2016, Youth Media Action (YMA) and partners have worked to build the capacity of high school journalists by providing them with a firm practical grounding in journalism through training opportunities and media exposure intended to inspire media reforms. YMA has been keen on mentoring young female journalists who are currently underrepresented in the Liberian media.
